Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Virginia:

1. That §23.1-905 of the Code of Virginia is amended and reenacted as follows:

§23.1-905. Academic credit for American Sign Language courses.

Each public institution of higher education shall count credit received for successful completion of American Sign Language courses either in a secondary school or another institution of higher education, including an institution of higher education from which a student transfers or transfers such course credit, toward satisfaction of the foreign language entrance requirements of the public institution of higher education.
