Summary

Schedule II drugs; require identification in filling prescriptions. Provides that a pharmacist shall require proof of identity from any person seeking to fill a prescription for a Schedule II drug before dispensing such drug and shall make a copy of such identification, unless the person seeking to fill the prescription is known to the pharmacist. This bill also provides that a pharmacist shall record the name and address of any person who seeks to fill a prescription for a Schedule II drug if the person is not the patient for whom the drug is prescribed, and that a pharmacist shall maintain records of names, addresses and, where required, copies of identification documents for at least one year. If such a prescription is delivered by mail, the delivery method employed must require the signature of the recipient as confirmation of receipt.
