Summary

Derivatives Market Manipulation Prevention Act of 2009 - Amends the Commodity Exchange Act to prohibit swap and other derivatives market manipulation and the reporting of false information relating to swaps. Subjects violations to specified civil penalties, and grants the Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC) enforcement powers. Extends to swaps the requirements for cease and desist orders and fines against persons (other than a registered entity) for market price manipulations and other violations. Extends private rights of action to contracts connected with a swap.
