SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 64
WHEREAS, Boaz on the Square in Graham celebrated the 100th
anniversary of its opening in November 2021; and

WHEREAS, Boaz on the Square traces its origins back to
1921, when P. A. Boaz, a Lebanese immigrant and entrepreneur,
founded the Boaz Department Store; over the years, the business
grew to include seven stores across Texas; and

WHEREAS, Three of the original stores remained active
after the Great Depression, and Mr. Boaz's grandson, Davey
Donnell, eventually took over the business; today, Boaz on the
Square sells apparel, footwear, and accessories both in store and
  online; and

WHEREAS, Local businesses of long standing play a vital
role in the culture and economy of the Lone Star State, and it is
indeed a pleasure to honor Boaz on the Square for the
contributions it has made to the Graham community over the past
  century; now, therefore, be it

RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 88th
Legislature, hereby commemorate the 100th anniversary of Boaz on
the Square and extend to all those associated with the enterprise
sincere best wishes for continued success; and, be it further

RESOLVED, That an official copy of this Resolution be
prepared for Boaz on the Square as an expression of high regard
