WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to | ||
recognize Madison Sanders on earning the Girl Scout Gold Award, | ||
which is being presented to her by the Amarillo Region of Girl | ||
Scouts of Texas Oklahoma Plains Council on April 9, 2011; and | ||
WHEREAS, Few Girl Scouts attain this distinguished award; it | ||
is the highest level of achievement in the Girl Scout program; and | ||
WHEREAS, Fulfilling the requirements of the Gold Award | ||
develops leadership skills and organizational abilities as well | ||
as a commitment to community service; girls working toward the | ||
award gain valuable experience that will contribute to their | ||
future success; and | ||
WHEREAS, Madison has designed and conducted a service | ||
project that will have a positive and lasting effect on her | ||
community; and | ||
WHEREAS, For her project, she created a reading lounge at a | ||
local children's home, transforming unused space into a | ||
welcoming, child-friendly area where children of all ages can | ||
read and study; and | ||
WHEREAS, By earning the Gold Award, Madison has brought | ||
honor to herself, her family, her council, and her community, and | ||
she deserves recognition for her dedication and achievement; | ||
now, therefore, be it | ||
RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 82nd | ||
Legislature, hereby commend Madison Sanders on receiving this | ||
prestigious award and extend to her congratulations on her | ||
exemplary accomplishment; and, be it further | ||
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for | ||
her as an expression of high regard from the Texas Senate. | ||
