Emily Elizabeth Hanna Bintliff | ||
WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas joins the | ||
citizens of Fort Worth in mourning the loss of Emily Elizabeth | ||
Hanna Bintliff, who died June 19, 2013, at the age of 60; and | ||
WHEREAS, Emily Hanna was born on November 28, 1952, in | ||
Vernon; she attended Vernon High School, where she was a standout | ||
tennis player, and she went on to attend Texas Christian | ||
University and to become a founding member of its women's tennis | ||
team; and | ||
WHEREAS, She remained a highly competitive tennis player | ||
throughout most of her life and was active in interclub tennis at | ||
the Colonial Country Club; her many other interests included | ||
serving as an officer in the Junior League of Fort Worth and as | ||
reunion chairperson for Texas Christian University alumni; she | ||
was an active fund-raiser for Susan G. Komen and contributed her | ||
time and talents to numerous other civic and charitable causes | ||
throughout Fort Worth; she also worked at the Texas Christian | ||
University Library and the Fort Worth Country Day School; and | ||
WHEREAS, Emily was devoted to her sons, John and Dan, and | ||
she was a devout Christian and an active member of Saint Andrew's | ||
Episcopal Church; she was noted for her passionate nature, her | ||
ready smile, and her wit and grace; and | ||
WHEREAS, She was a generous, kindhearted person who was | ||
respected in the community for her accomplishments, and her | ||
she was beloved by many, and she leaves behind memories that will | ||
be treasured forever by all who were privileged to share in her | ||
life; now, therefore, be it | ||
RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 83rd | ||
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for | ||
her family as an expression of deepest sympathy from the Texas | ||
Senate, and that when the Senate adjourns this day, it do so in | ||
memory of Emily Hanna Bintliff. | ||
