WHEREAS, Dr. Jaime Villarreal achieved great distinction | ||
by graduating from The University of Texas Rio Grande Valley with | ||
a doctorate of education in curriculum and instruction on | ||
December 12, 2020; and | ||
WHEREAS, Dr. Villarreal holds a master's degree in | ||
educational leadership and a bachelor's degree in government | ||
from The University of Texas at Brownsville; on November 16, | ||
2020, he successfully defended his dissertation, "Field of | ||
Dreams: Environmental Factors Contributing to the Academic and | ||
Professional Success of Mexican-American Former Migrant Students | ||
from the Rio-Grande Valley of South Texas"; and | ||
WHEREAS, A lifelong educator and a former migrant student, | ||
Dr. Villarreal has dedicated his career to teaching on South | ||
Texas campuses in Brownsville; since 2015, he has served as an | ||
assistant principal at Faulk Middle School, and he previously | ||
spent six years as an assistant principal at Lucio Middle School | ||
and seven years as a classroom instructor at Gladys Porter High | ||
School, beginning in 2002; and | ||
WHEREAS, Jaime Villarreal has demonstrated an unwavering | ||
commitment to the students of the Rio Grande Valley in his | ||
academic and professional endeavors, and he may indeed take great | ||
pride in this most recent accomplishment; now, therefore, be it | ||
RESOLVED, That the Senate of the 87th Texas Legislature, | ||
3rd Called Session, hereby congratulate Dr. Jaime Villarreal on | ||
receiving a doctorate of education from The University of Texas | ||
Rio Grande Valley and extend to him sincere best wishes for | ||
continued success; and, be it further | ||
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be | ||
prepared for Dr. Villarreal as an expression of high regard by | ||
the Texas Senate. |
