SENATE RESOLUTION
         WHEREAS, Dr. Jaime Villarreal achieved great distinction
  by graduating from The University of Texas Rio Grande Valley with
  a doctorate of education in curriculum and instruction on
  December 12, 2020; and
         WHEREAS, Dr. Villarreal holds a master's degree in
  educational leadership and a bachelor's degree in government
  from The University of Texas at Brownsville; on November 16,
  2020, he successfully defended his dissertation, "Field of
  Dreams: Environmental Factors Contributing to the Academic and
  Professional Success of Mexican-American Former Migrant Students
  from the Rio-Grande Valley of South Texas"; and
         WHEREAS, A lifelong educator and a former migrant student,
  Dr. Villarreal has dedicated his career to teaching on South
  Texas campuses in Brownsville; since 2015, he has served as an
  assistant principal at Faulk Middle School, and he previously
  spent six years as an assistant principal at Lucio Middle School
  and seven years as a classroom instructor at Gladys Porter High
  School, beginning in 2002; and
         WHEREAS, Jaime Villarreal has demonstrated an unwavering
  commitment to the students of the Rio Grande Valley in his
  academic and professional endeavors, and he may indeed take great
  pride in this most recent accomplishment; now, therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the Senate of the 87th Texas Legislature,
  3rd Called Session, hereby congratulate Dr. Jaime Villarreal on
  receiving a doctorate of education from The University of Texas
  Rio Grande Valley and extend to him sincere best wishes for
  continued success; and, be it further
         RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
  prepared for Dr. Villarreal as an expression of high regard by
  the Texas Senate.
