proposing a constitutional amendment to constitutionally dedicate | ||
certain revenue directed to the state highway fund for the purposes | ||
of acquiring, constructing, and maintaining public roadways. | ||
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: | ||
SECTION 1. Article VIII, Texas Constitution, is amended by | ||
adding Section 7-e to read as follows: | ||
Sec. 7-e. All revenue received from fees for permits for | ||
oversize or overweight vehicles that general law directs to the | ||
state highway fund may be used only to acquire, construct, and | ||
maintain public roadways. | ||
SECTION 2. This proposed constitutional amendment shall be | ||
submitted to the voters at an election to be held November 2, 2021. | ||
The ballot shall be printed to permit voting for or against the | ||
proposition: "The constitutional amendment to constitutionally | ||
dedicate certain revenue directed to the state highway fund for the | ||
purposes of acquiring, constructing, and maintaining public | ||
roadways." |
