relating to the submission of an affordability and access report by | ||
public institutions of higher education. | ||
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: | ||
SECTION 1. Section 51.4031(a), Education Code, is amended | ||
to read as follows: | ||
(a) Not later than November 1 of each year, the chief | ||
executive officer of each institution of higher education, as | ||
defined by Section 61.003, shall provide to the governing board of | ||
the institution, the governor, the lieutenant governor, the speaker | ||
of the house of representatives, and each member of the legislature | ||
a report for the preceding fall, spring, and summer semesters that | ||
examines the affordability and access of the institution. | ||
SECTION 2. This Act takes effect immediately if it receives | ||
a vote of two-thirds of all the members elected to each house, as | ||
provided by Section 39, Article III, Texas Constitution. If this | ||
Act does not receive the vote necessary for immediate effect, this | ||
Act takes effect September 1, 2017. |
