relating to the acquisition of certain real property in El Paso | ||
County for the construction of facilities for the Department of | ||
Public Safety of the State of Texas. | ||
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: | ||
SECTION 1. Subchapter L, Chapter 2166, Government Code, is | ||
amended by adding Section 2166.554 to read as follows: | ||
Sec. 2166.554. LEASE OF FEDERAL PROPERTY FOR DEPARTMENT OF | ||
PUBLIC SAFETY. (a) The Department of Public Safety of the State of | ||
Texas may enter into a long-term lease of a portion of federal real | ||
property known as Fort Bliss. | ||
(b) A lease entered into under Subsection (a): | ||
(1) is for the use and benefit of this state; and | ||
(2) may be for a period or term until the real property | ||
is donated to the Department of Public Safety of the State of Texas. | ||
SECTION 2. This Act takes effect September 1, 2013. |
