| County for the construction of facilities for the Department of | ||
| Public Safety of the State of Texas. | ||
| BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: | ||
| SECTION 1. Subchapter L, Chapter 2166, Government Code, is | ||
| amended by adding Section 2166.554 to read as follows: | ||
| Sec. 2166.554. LEASE OF FEDERAL PROPERTY FOR DEPARTMENT OF | ||
| PUBLIC SAFETY. (a) The Department of Public Safety of the State of | ||
| Texas may enter into a long-term lease of a portion of federal real | ||
| property known as Fort Bliss. | ||
| (b) A lease entered into under Subsection (a): | ||
| (1) is for the use and benefit of this state; and | ||
| (2) may be for a period or term until the real property | ||
| is donated to the Department of Public Safety of the State of Texas. | ||
| SECTION 2. This Act takes effect September 1, 2013. | ||
