BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: | ||
SECTION 1. Subchapter D, Chapter 437, Government Code, is | ||
amended by adding Section 437.164 to read as follows: | ||
Sec. 437.164. DISASTER PREPAREDNESS STUDY. (a) The | ||
department shall study each Texas military forces facility to | ||
determine the facility's preparedness for natural disasters, | ||
including hurricanes, tornadoes, severe storms, floods, and | ||
extreme weather events. The department shall identify enhancements | ||
to each facility necessary to improve the installation's disaster | ||
preparedness. | ||
(b) Not later than December 1, 2022, the department shall | ||
report its findings and any recommendations to the legislature. | ||
(c) This section expires September 1, 2023. | ||
SECTION 2. This Act takes effect September 1, 2021. | ||
