R E S O L U T I O N
 
         WHEREAS, The Bishop Arts District of Oak Cliff in Dallas is
  welcoming a vibrant addition to its retail scene with the grand
  opening of the Bishop Arts Winery on June 22, 2013; and
         WHEREAS, Occupying a vintage 80-year-old building, this
  notable new establishment will feature a diverse collection of
  wines from vineyards across the state, including its own brand of
  red and white wines crafted from Texas-grown grapes, and plans to
  have regular wine tastings; and
         WHEREAS, The winery's opening represents the culmination of a
  two-year-long effort on the part of owner Elias Rodriguez and his
  wife, Dolores; a resident of the Oak Cliff area since childhood,
  Mr. Rodriguez developed his interest in winemaking after spending
  time with a German family as a soldier in the U.S. Army during the
  1980s; and
         WHEREAS, Locally owned and operated businesses play a vital
  role in the state's economic prosperity while also enhancing the
  cultural landscape of their communities, and it is indeed a
  pleasure to recognize this promising new venture as it opens its
  doors; now, therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 83rd Texas
  Legislature, 1st Called Session, hereby congratulate Elias and
  Dolores Rodriguez on the opening of their new business, the Bishop
  Arts Winery, and extend to them sincere best wishes for success;
  and, be it further
         RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
  prepared for Mr. and Mrs. Rodriguez as an expression of high regard
  by the Texas House of Representatives.
