R E S O L U T I O N
 
         WHEREAS, The Panhandle Behavioral Health Alliance and its
  founder, Laura Street of Amarillo, are making vital contributions
  to the well-being of countless Texans; and
         WHEREAS, Ms. Street brought together a group of more than 40
  local leaders to begin a conversation about the mental health of
  Panhandle residents; on May 4, 2016, these dedicated men and women
  launched the Amarillo Okay to Say campaign, part of a statewide
  movement to increase awareness and share a message of hope and
  recovery with those suffering from mental illnesses; and
         WHEREAS, Following a comprehensive assessment by the Meadows
  Mental Health Policy Institute, the Panhandle Behavioral Health
  Alliance was officially established on February 15, 2017, with a
  goal of creating a network of professionals to improve behavioral
  health care for all people in the region; this same day was declared
  Panhandle Behavioral Health Alliance Day in Amarillo by Mayor Paul
  Harpole, and the organization's leaders reintroduced the Amarillo
  Okay to Say campaign; and
         WHEREAS, The Panhandle Behavioral Health Alliance currently
  operates in 26 Texas counties; it draws on the collective efforts of
  numerous organizations, companies, foundations, governmental
  agencies, and medical entities, as well as individuals and families
  affected by mental, behavioral, or addiction-related challenges;
  and
         WHEREAS, The members of the Panhandle Behavioral Health
  Alliance are working tirelessly to ensure that all of the region's
  residents have access to high-quality behavioral health care when
  and where they need it, and they are indeed deserving of recognition
  at this time; now, therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 85th Texas
  Legislature hereby honor the Panhandle Behavioral Health Alliance
  for its efforts to enhance the region's mental health care system
  and commend Laura Street for her commitment to improving the
  quality of life for residents of the Texas Panhandle; and, be it
  further
         RESOLVED, That official copies of this resolution be prepared
  for the Panhandle Behavioral Health Alliance and Ms. Street as an
  expression of high regard by the Texas House of Representatives.
