WHEREAS, The Woodlands was ranked No. 1 on the 2022 list of | ||
the Best Cities to Live in America published by the website | ||
Niche.com, marking the second consecutive year that the community | ||
has received this honor; and | ||
WHEREAS, Drawing on publicly available data and millions of | ||
reviews from residents, Niche evaluated 228 cities nationwide, | ||
considering factors such as affordability, housing costs, | ||
neighborhood diversity, public school quality, and walkability; | ||
and | ||
WHEREAS, Located just north of Houston, The Woodlands | ||
Township is a master-planned community that is home to some 116,000 | ||
residents and over 2,000 businesses; in addition to being | ||
designated as one of the best cities to live in America, The | ||
Woodlands was the runner-up on the website's rankings of the best | ||
cities to buy a house and the best cities to raise a family, and it | ||
placed in the top 10 on Niche's list of the cities with the best | ||
public schools; and | ||
WHEREAS, The Woodlands has consistently garnered acclaim for | ||
its blend of modern living and natural beauty; the community boasts | ||
more than 140 parks and over 220 miles of hike and bike trails, | ||
amenities that earned it a 2019 Gold Medal Grand Plaque Award from | ||
the American Academy for Park and Recreation Administration and the | ||
National Recreation and Park Association; in addition, its | ||
burgeoning job market, low crime rate, excellent educational | ||
opportunities, vibrant suburban atmosphere, and cultural events | ||
and entertainment are among the many amenities that have made The | ||
Woodlands a desirable destination for families, professionals, and | ||
retirees; and | ||
WHEREAS, The prestigious Best Cities award adds to a long and | ||
impressive list of accolades conferred on The Woodlands, and its | ||
citizens can indeed take pride in the well-deserved national | ||
attention that their community has received; now, therefore, be it | ||
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 88th Texas | ||
Legislature hereby congratulate The Woodlands on ranking No. 1 on | ||
Niche.com's list of Best Cities to Live in America for 2022 and | ||
extend to its public officials and residents sincere best wishes | ||
for the future; and, be it further | ||
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be | ||
prepared for The Woodlands as an expression of high regard by the | ||
Texas House of Representatives. | ||
