R E S O L U T I O N
         WHEREAS, A 50th wedding anniversary marks a lifetime of
  mutual devotion and shared experiences, and Dr. Vernon D. Holleman
  and Shirley Holleman of Temple celebrated this joyous milestone in
  their marriage on April 26, 2011; and
         WHEREAS, Vernon and Shirley Holleman were joined in matrimony
  in 1961 at a ceremony held at the First Baptist Church of Aransas
  Pass; and
         WHEREAS, A native of Brownwood, Dr. Holleman graduated from
  Howard Payne College and went on to earn his medical degree from the
  Baylor College of Medicine; he has been a valued member of the Scott &
  White Hospital staff for 53 years; Mrs. Holleman was born and
  raised in Belton; she graduated from Scott & White School of
  Professional Nursing and the University of Mary Hardin-Baylor, and
  today, she is enjoying retirement; and
         WHEREAS, The five decades of marriage that Dr. and Mrs.
  Holleman have shared is eloquent affirmation of the meaning of love
  and commitment, and their enduring union is an inspiration to all
  who know them; now, therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 82nd Texas
  Legislature, 1st Called Session,
  hereby congratulate Vernon and
  Shirley Holleman on their 50th wedding anniversary and extend to
  them sincere best wishes for continued happiness; and, be it
  further
         RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
  prepared for the couple as an expression of high regard by the Texas
  House of Representatives.
