WHEREAS, A 50th wedding anniversary marks a lifetime of | ||
mutual devotion and shared experiences, and Dr. Vernon D. Holleman | ||
and Shirley Holleman of Temple celebrated this joyous milestone in | ||
their marriage on April 26, 2011; and | ||
WHEREAS, Vernon and Shirley Holleman were joined in matrimony | ||
in 1961 at a ceremony held at the First Baptist Church of Aransas | ||
Pass; and | ||
WHEREAS, A native of Brownwood, Dr. Holleman graduated from | ||
Howard Payne College and went on to earn his medical degree from the | ||
Baylor College of Medicine; he has been a valued member of the Scott & | ||
White Hospital staff for 53 years; Mrs. Holleman was born and | ||
raised in Belton; she graduated from Scott & White School of | ||
Professional Nursing and the University of Mary Hardin-Baylor, and | ||
today, she is enjoying retirement; and | ||
WHEREAS, The five decades of marriage that Dr. and Mrs. | ||
Holleman have shared is eloquent affirmation of the meaning of love | ||
and commitment, and their enduring union is an inspiration to all | ||
who know them; now, therefore, be it | ||
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 82nd Texas | ||
Legislature, 1st Called Session, | ||
hereby congratulate Vernon and | ||
Shirley Holleman on their 50th wedding anniversary and extend to | ||
them sincere best wishes for continued happiness; and, be it | ||
further | ||
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be | ||
prepared for the couple as an expression of high regard by the Texas | ||
House of Representatives. | ||
