R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
|
WHEREAS, A 50th wedding anniversary marks a lifetime of |
|
|
mutual devotion and shared experiences, and Dr. Vernon D. Holleman |
|
|
and Shirley Holleman of Temple celebrated this joyous milestone in |
|
|
their marriage on April 26, 2011; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Vernon and Shirley Holleman were joined in matrimony |
|
|
in 1961 at a ceremony held at the First Baptist Church of Aransas |
|
|
Pass; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, A native of Brownwood, Dr. Holleman graduated from |
|
|
Howard Payne College and went on to earn his medical degree from the |
|
|
Baylor College of Medicine; he has been a valued member of the Scott & |
|
|
White Hospital staff for 53 years; Mrs. Holleman was born and |
|
|
raised in Belton; she graduated from Scott & White School of |
|
|
Professional Nursing and the University of Mary Hardin-Baylor, and |
|
|
today, she is enjoying retirement; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, The five decades of marriage that Dr. and Mrs. |
|
|
Holleman have shared is eloquent affirmation of the meaning of love |
|
|
and commitment, and their enduring union is an inspiration to all |
|
|
who know them; now, therefore, be it |
|
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 82nd Texas |
|
|
Legislature, 1st Called Session, |
|
|
hereby congratulate Vernon and |
|
|
Shirley Holleman on their 50th wedding anniversary and extend to |
|
|
them sincere best wishes for continued happiness; and, be it |
|
|
further |
|
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
|
prepared for the couple as an expression of high regard by the Texas |
|
|
House of Representatives. |
