WHEREAS, Sergeant Tommy Ellis retired from the Richardson | ||
Police Department on September 30, 2010, drawing to a close a | ||
notable career with the department that spanned nearly three | ||
decades; and | ||
WHEREAS, Mr. Ellis initially served as an officer in the | ||
patrol and investigative divisions; after winning promotion to | ||
sergeant in 1994, he served as a supervisor in the patrol division | ||
and the traffic unit; he further distinguished himself as the head | ||
of the Special Weapons and Tactics Team for 15 years; and | ||
WHEREAS, This outstanding peace officer continues to serve | ||
the public today as a member of the Federal Bureau of Investigation; | ||
and | ||
WHEREAS, Sergeant Ellis's dedication, professionalism, and | ||
commitment to the safety and welfare of the public greatly | ||
benefited the citizens of Richardson, and he may indeed reflect | ||
with pride on his outstanding tenure with RPD; now, therefore, be it | ||
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 82nd Texas | ||
Legislature hereby congratulate Sergeant Tommy Ellis on his | ||
retirement from the Richardson Police Department and extend to him | ||
sincere best wishes for continued success and happiness; and, be it | ||
further | ||
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be | ||
prepared for Sergeant Ellis as an expression of high regard by the | ||
Texas House of Representatives. | ||
