H.R. No. 215

R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, A rich and purposeful life drew to a close with the
passing of Genaro Muñoz Jr. of Roma on June 23, 2017, at the age of
69; and
WHEREAS, Mr. Muñoz was born in Roma on February 21, 1948, to
Genaro Muñoz Sr. and Beatriz Muñoz; after graduating from Rio
Grande City High School in 1966, he attended San Antonio College,
and he went on to enjoy a rewarding career as a meat inspector for
the Texas Department of Health for 35 years, until his retirement;
and
WHEREAS, Committed to his local community, Mr. Muñoz was an
active member of the Rio Grande City chapter of the Knights of
Columbus, and in his free time, he took great delight in ranching,
hunting, watching movies, and traveling; and
WHEREAS, Above all else, Mr. Muñoz deeply cherished his
family; he was a devoted husband to his wife of 49 years, Dora
Salinas Muñoz, and the proud father of a daughter, Lucy Muñoz, and
two sons, Genaro Muñoz III and Jesus Rolando Muñoz; he also
experienced the joy of welcoming eight grandchildren, Christopher,
Alex, Ashley, Genaro, Gerardo, Daniel, Isabella, and Sophia, into
his family; and
WHEREAS, Genaro Muñoz Jr. will long be remembered for his
boundless love and strength of character, and those fortunate
enough to have known him will forever hold him close in their
hearts; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 85th Texas
Legislature, 1st Called Session, hereby pay tribute to the memory
of Genaro Muñoz Jr. and extend heartfelt sympathy to his loved ones
and many friends; and, be it further
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
prepared for his family and that when the Texas House of
Representatives adjourns this day, it do so in memory of Genaro
Muñoz Jr.
