WHEREAS, Miriam M. Elizondo has stepped down as executive | ||
director of the Rape Crisis Center in San Antonio, concluding an | ||
exemplary 13 years of service to the center and its clients; and | ||
WHEREAS, A graduate of The University of Texas at San | ||
Antonio, Ms. Elizondo went on to complete a master's degree in | ||
psychology in 2005 at Our Lady of the Lake University; after | ||
accepting an internship with the Rape Crisis Center, beginning what | ||
she believed would be a temporary affiliation, she felt a calling to | ||
continue her work there; she signed on as a full-time clinician, and | ||
in 2007 she was named clinical director of the center; and | ||
WHEREAS, Throughout her tenure, Ms. Elizondo has executed | ||
her duties with skill, energy, and selfless commitment; honored by | ||
Our Lady of the Lake University with the Outstanding Alumni Award, | ||
she was also selected as a 2016-2017 Tesoro Leadership Fellow by the | ||
San Antonio Area Foundation; and | ||
WHEREAS, Miriam Elizondo's leadership and compassion have | ||
contributed immeasurably to the work of the Rape Crisis Center, and | ||
she may reflect with pride on all that she has accomplished as she | ||
embarks on the next chapter of her life; now, therefore, be it | ||
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 85th Texas | ||
Legislature hereby honor Miriam M. Elizondo for her service to the | ||
Rape Crisis Center in San Antonio and extend to her sincere best | ||
wishes for the future; and, be it further | ||
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be | ||
prepared for Ms. Elizondo as an expression of high regard by the | ||
Texas House of Representatives. |
