R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, Griffin Middle School students achieved outstanding
results at the Lewisville Independent School District East Zone
Choir Solo and Ensemble Competition on April 6, 2013; and
WHEREAS, Twelve students from Griffin competed, all of them
earning superior ratings for their performances; in addition, Jakob
Gamblin was one of only six students to take home a prestigious
district solo award, out of some 600 contestants; and
WHEREAS, Under the leadership of choir director Karen Patton,
these talented young vocalists have demonstrated hard work and
countless hours of dedicated practice, and they are a source of
great pride to their school and their community; now, therefore, be
it
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 83rd Texas
Legislature hereby congratulate the Griffin Middle School students
who participated in the Lewisville ISD East Zone Choir Solo and
Ensemble Competition and extend to them sincere best wishes for
continued success; and, be it further
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
prepared for the school as an expression of high regard by the Texas
House of Representatives.
