| WHEREAS, Griffin Middle School students achieved outstanding | ||
| results at the Lewisville Independent School District East Zone | ||
| Choir Solo and Ensemble Competition on April 6, 2013; and | ||
| WHEREAS, Twelve students from Griffin competed, all of them | ||
| earning superior ratings for their performances; in addition, Jakob | ||
| Gamblin was one of only six students to take home a prestigious | ||
| district solo award, out of some 600 contestants; and | ||
| WHEREAS, Under the leadership of choir director Karen Patton, | ||
| these talented young vocalists have demonstrated hard work and | ||
| countless hours of dedicated practice, and they are a source of | ||
| great pride to their school and their community; now, therefore, be | ||
| it | ||
| RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 83rd Texas | ||
| Legislature hereby congratulate the Griffin Middle School students | ||
| who participated in the Lewisville ISD East Zone Choir Solo and | ||
| Ensemble Competition and extend to them sincere best wishes for | ||
| continued success; and, be it further | ||
| RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be | ||
| prepared for the school as an expression of high regard by the Texas | ||
| House of Representatives. | ||
