R E S O L U T I O N
         WHEREAS, Patrick Hudson of Silsbee High School distinguished
  himself with his powerlifting achievements during 2015, earning a
  trip to the Texas High School Powerlifting Association State
  Championship and finishing in second place in the super heavyweight
  division; and
         WHEREAS, Mr. Hudson qualified for state with his triumphant
  showing at the Region 4 Division 2 competition on March 7 in
  Cleveland, Texas; he lifted a total of 1,705 pounds and easily won
  his weight class, finishing 300 pounds ahead of his nearest
  competitor; and
         WHEREAS, Matching his skills against other top lifters at the
  THSPA State Championship on March 28 in Abilene, Mr. Hudson hoisted
  690 pounds in the squat and 395 in the bench press, while his
  715-pound performance in the deadlift was the best of the entire
  meet; he tallied 1,800 pounds overall, taking the runner-up spot in
  his division; and
         WHEREAS, Demonstrating hard work and unwavering
  determination to achieve his goals, Patrick Hudson has claimed a
  place among the elite young weight lifters in the Lone Star State,
  and he may indeed take pride in his outstanding accomplishments;
  now, therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 84th Texas
  Legislature hereby congratulate Patrick Hudson on his second-place
  finish in the super heavyweight division at the Texas High School
  Powerlifting Association State Championship and extend to him
  sincere best wishes for continued success; and, be it further
         RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
  prepared for Mr. Hudson as an expression of high regard by the Texas
  House of Representatives.
