WHEREAS, The 50th birthday of an esteemed Texan is truly | ||
cause for celebration, and Irfan Motiwala is reaching that | ||
significant milestone in his life on September 12, 2021; and | ||
WHEREAS, Born in Mumbai, India, in 1971, Mr. Motiwala and his | ||
brother Sajid immigrated to the United States in 1992, and they soon | ||
began working in a small jewelry store in Austin; and | ||
WHEREAS, Inspired by his role model, Warren Buffett, | ||
Mr. Motiwala and his brother saved enough money to open their own | ||
store, starting with a kiosk in Houston; in 1997, they opened Regal | ||
Jewelers in Victoria, and the business continues to thrive today; | ||
and | ||
WHEREAS, An American citizen since 2013, Mr. Motiwala is also | ||
the co-owner of Alings Chinese Bistro in Sugar Land; when he is not | ||
busy with his various enterprises, he delights in reading, watching | ||
movies, and hanging out with his children; and | ||
WHEREAS, With the passage of another year, Irfan Motiwala may | ||
reflect with great satisfaction on his many achievements, and it is | ||
a pleasure to join his friends and loved ones in honoring him on | ||
this memorable occasion; now, therefore, be it | ||
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 87th Texas | ||
Legislature, 2nd Called Session, hereby congratulate Irfan | ||
Motiwala on his 50th birthday and extend to him sincere best wishes | ||
for continued success and happiness; and, be it further | ||
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be | ||
prepared for Mr. Motiwala as an expression of high regard by the | ||
Texas House of Representatives. | ||
