WHEREAS, Megan Allgeier of San Angelo has attained the Girl | ||
Scout Gold Award, the organization's highest commendation; and | ||
WHEREAS, To earn this distinction, Ms. Allgeier successfully | ||
met a series of requirements emphasizing community service, | ||
personal and spiritual growth, positive values, and leadership | ||
skills; in addition, she planned and implemented a Girl Scout Gold | ||
Award project that involved the creation of a dog park in San | ||
Angelo; she spoke at city council and parks and recreation | ||
committee meetings, and she also organized a walkathon and glow run | ||
to raise funds for the construction of the park; and | ||
WHEREAS, By encouraging young women to build confidence, | ||
explore career opportunities, and become more socially conscious, | ||
the Girl Scout program is helping its participants to achieve their | ||
greatest potential as engaged citizens and leaders; and | ||
WHEREAS, The maturity and dedication that Megan Allgeier has | ||
demonstrated in pursuit of her goals truly exemplify the highest | ||
ideals of the Girl Scout organization, and she indeed merits | ||
special recognition for her achievement; now, therefore, be it | ||
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 84th Texas | ||
Legislature hereby congratulate Megan Allgeier on earning the Girl | ||
Scout Gold Award and extend to her sincere best wishes for continued | ||
success and happiness; and, be it further | ||
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be | ||
prepared for Ms. Allgeier as an expression of high regard by the | ||
Texas House of Representatives. | ||
