R E S O L U T I O N
         WHEREAS, Friends and family are mourning the loss of Aurora
  Hinojosa Longoria of Mission, who passed away on January 2, 2017, at
  the age of 92; and
         WHEREAS, The former Aurora Hinojosa was born to Aurora and
  Amador Hinojosa on August 12, 1924, in Mission, where she grew up
  with her two brothers, Amador and Aaron, and her sister, Viola; she
  went on to graduate as a member of the Mission High School Class of
  1942; and
         WHEREAS, This esteemed Texan exchanged the vows of matrimony
  with Joe Longoria in 1945; the couple raised their four children,
  Joe, David, Raymond, and Lillian, while living in Elsa, where
  Mrs. Longoria gave generously of her time and talents as a Head
  Start director and Cub Scout leader; they moved back to Mission in
  1968, and with the passing years, Mrs. Longoria watched her
  treasured family grow to include her 10 grandchildren, Melissa,
  Michael, Eric, Bobby, David, Daniel, Jacob, Stephanie, Stacie, and
  Christina, and 5 great-grandchildren, Ansel, Lunita, Zachary,
  Savannah, and Julia; and
         WHEREAS, Known affectionately as "Gora," Mrs. Longoria had a
  way of making everyone feel like family by welcoming them into her
  home and preparing them wonderful meals and delicious margaritas; a
  woman of deep faith, she was a valued congregant of Our Lady of
  Guadalupe Catholic Church; in her spare time, she enjoyed cheering
  on her favorite team, the Dallas Cowboys; and
         WHEREAS, Aurora Longoria enjoyed a life that was rich in the
  intangibles that matter most, and she is deeply missed by all who
  held her dear; now, therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 85th Texas
  Legislature hereby pay tribute to the memory of Aurora Hinojosa
  Longoria and extend sincere condolences to the members of her
  family and to her many friends; and, be it further
         RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
  prepared for her family and that when the Texas House of
  Representatives adjourns this day, it do so in memory of Aurora
  Hinojosa Longoria.
