relating to the evaluation of child-care providers participating in | ||
the Texas Rising Star Program. | ||
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: | ||
SECTION 1. Section 2308.3155, Government Code, is amended | ||
by adding Subsections (b-3) and (b-4) to read as follows: | ||
(b-3) When determining the provider's rating under the | ||
rating system adopted under Subsection (b), the commission shall | ||
consider: | ||
(1) comments from caregivers employed by the | ||
child-care provider and parents of children receiving care from the | ||
provider; | ||
(2) information regarding any investigations by the | ||
Department of Family and Protective Services relating to the | ||
provider; and | ||
(3) a provider's detailed licensing information, | ||
including any reports against the provider for a violation of the | ||
minimum standards for the provider and any adverse action taken by | ||
the Health and Human Services Commission against the provider's | ||
license or registration. | ||
(b-4) The commission shall collaborate with the Department | ||
of Family and Protective Services and the Health and Human Services | ||
Commission to obtain the information described by Subsections | ||
(b-3)(2) and (3). | ||
SECTION 2. This Act takes effect September 1, 2023. |
