BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: | ||
SECTION 1. Section 1084.051(b), Special District Local Laws | ||
Code, is amended to read as follows: | ||
(b) Unless four-year terms are established under Section | ||
285.081, Health and Safety Code, the directors elected to the board | ||
serve staggered three-year [ |

SECTION 2. A director of the Palo Pinto County Hospital | ||
District who is serving on the day before the effective date of this | ||
Act shall serve until the director's term expires as described by | ||
this section. A director serving in Place 1 or Place 2 shall serve | ||
until the director's successor has qualified following the election | ||
held in 2017. A director serving in Place 3 or Place 4 shall serve | ||
until the director's successor has qualified following the election | ||
held in 2018. A director serving in Place 5 or Place 6 shall serve | ||
until the director's successor has qualified following the election | ||
held in 2019. | ||
SECTION 3. This Act takes effect immediately if it receives | ||
a vote of two-thirds of all the members elected to each house, as | ||
provided by Section 39, Article III, Texas Constitution. If this | ||
Act does not receive the vote necessary for immediate effect, this | ||
Act takes effect September 1, 2017. | ||
