organizations. | ||
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: | ||
SECTION 1. Section 351.901(b), Local Government Code, is | ||
amended to read as follows: | ||
(b) The commissioners court of a county by contract may | ||
donate money to one or more crime stoppers or crime prevention | ||
organizations for expenditure by the organizations to meet the | ||
goals identified in Subsection (a). The total amount of all | ||
donations made in a calendar year may not exceed: | ||
(1) $25,000; or | ||
(2) $100,000, for a county with a population of 3.3 | ||
million or more. | ||
SECTION 2. This Act takes effect immediately if it receives | ||
a vote of two-thirds of all the members elected to each house, as | ||
provided by Section 39, Article III, Texas Constitution. If this | ||
Act does not receive the vote necessary for immediate effect, this | ||
Act takes effect September 1, 2015. |
