A BILL TO BE ENTITLED
 
AN ACT
  relating to the authority of certain counties to regulate camping
  on public beaches; adding a provision that may be subject to a
  criminal penalty.
         BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS:
         SECTION 1.  Section 61.122, Natural Resources Code, is
  amended by adding Subsection (d-1) to read as follows:
         (d-1)  The commissioners court of a county bordering on the
  Gulf of Mexico or its tidewater limits, by order, may regulate
  camping on a beach within the boundaries of the county that is not
  in a public park under the jurisdiction of another governmental
  entity. The county may define "camping" and restrict the length of
  time for which a person may camp on the beach.
         SECTION 2.  This Act takes effect September 1, 2015.
