towed behind a motorboat or while engaged in water sports in or on | ||
the wake of a motorboat; creating a criminal offense. | ||
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: | ||
SECTION 1. Section 31.066, Parks and Wildlife Code, is | ||
amended by adding Subsection (f) to read as follows: | ||
(f) A person may not operate a motorboat unless each person | ||
towed behind the motorboat or engaged in water sports in or on the | ||
motorboat's wake is wearing a wearable personal flotation device of | ||
the sort prescribed by the commandant of the Coast Guard. | ||
SECTION 2. This Act takes effect September 1, 2021. |
