| BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: | ||
| SECTION 1. Section 29.203(f), Education Code, is amended to | ||
| read as follows: | ||
| (f) The school district in which a student resides shall | ||
| provide each student attending a school in another district under | ||
| this subchapter transportation free of charge to and from the | ||
| school the student attends [ |
||
| shall reimburse the school district that provides transportation to | ||
| a student under this subsection for the costs associated with | ||
| providing the transportation. | ||
| SECTION 2. This Act applies beginning with the 2024-2025 | ||
| school year. | ||
| SECTION 3. This Act takes effect on the 91st day after the | ||
| last day of the legislative session. | ||
