A BILL TO BE ENTITLED
 
AN ACT
  relating to the exception to disclosure under the public
  information law of certain personal information contained in a
  citation issued for a violation of a state traffic law or local
  traffic ordinance.
         BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS:
         SECTION 1.  Subchapter C, Chapter 552, Government Code, is
  amended by adding Section 552.1082 to read as follows:
         Sec. 552.1082.  EXCEPTION: CERTAIN PERSONAL INFORMATION
  FROM TRAFFIC VIOLATION RECORDS.  Information contained in a
  citation issued for a violation of a state traffic law or local
  traffic ordinance is excepted from the requirements of Section
  552.021 if the information is the home address or personal
  telephone number of the person who is the subject of a citation.
         SECTION 2.  This Act takes effect immediately if it receives
  a vote of two-thirds of all the members elected to each house, as
  provided by Section 39, Article III, Texas Constitution.  If this
  Act does not receive the vote necessary for immediate effect, this
  Act takes effect September 1, 2017.
