relating to the acceptance of private donations by a district clerk | ||
to fund promotion of effective jury service. | ||
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: | ||
SECTION 1. Section 51.303, Government Code, is amended by | ||
adding Subsection (g) to read as follows: | ||
(g) A district clerk in a county with a population of more | ||
than 1.2 million may accept a grant or donation to assist in | ||
promoting effective jury service. | ||
SECTION 2. This Act takes effect immediately if it receives | ||
a vote of two-thirds of all the members elected to each house, as | ||
provided by Section 39, Article III, Texas Constitution. If this | ||
Act does not receive the vote necessary for immediate effect, this | ||
Act takes effect September 1, 2013. |
