HB2603 by Hull (Relating to increasing the criminal penalty for the offense of trafficking of persons if committed at certain locations.), As Introduced |
No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.
The bill would increase the penalty for the offense of trafficking of persons to a first degree felony with a minimum 25 year term of imprisonment if the offense is committed within 1,000 feet of a juvenile detention facility, a post-adjudication secure correctional facility, or a residential child-care facility. It is assumed that any fiscal impact and any impact on state correctional populations or on the demand for state correctional resources would not be significant.
Local Government Impact
It is assumed that any fiscal impact to units of local government associated with enforcement, prosecution, supervision, or confinement would not be significant.
