Summary
As introduced, requires, by September 1, the department of health to submit a report to the chairs of the general assembly's health-related committees concerning the number of hospitals found, within the last 20 years, to have failed to provide emergency services in accordance with rules adopted by the board for licensing healthcare facilities, or failed to furnish such services to any applicant who applies for the services in case of injury or acute medical condition where the injury or condition is liable to cause death or severe injury or illness; requires the report to include the penalties assessed and collected pursuant to those violations. - Amends TCA Title 4; Title 33; Title 56; Title 68 and Title 71.
