Summary

As introduced, requires a practitioner to discuss with patients the addiction and overdose risks associated with certain prescription drugs, alternative treatments that may be available, and the reasons why the prescription is necessary prior to issuing an initial prescription and prior to issuing a third prescription for certain controlled substances in a course of treatment for acute or chronic pain. - Amends TCA Title 39; Title 53 and Title 63.
