A RESOLUTION

Directing the Legislative Budget and Finance Committee to study

the adult basic coverage insurance program and identify

3

possible funding sources that are available to continue this

4

program, reporting its findings to the Public Health and

5

Welfare Committee of the Senate within 90 days of the passage

6

of this resolution.

WHEREAS, The adult basic coverage insurance program created

8

under section 1303 of the act of June 26, 2001 (P.L.755, No.77),

9

has proven to be an outstanding program; and

10

WHEREAS, The adult basic coverage insurance program is in

11

jeopardy of being discontinued unless the worthiness of the

12

program is heralded and funding sources are identified; 

13

WHEREAS, The impact of discontinuing this program will affect

14

more than 40,000 working class adults who are currently

15

receiving medical insurance through the program; therefore be it

16

RESOLVED, That the Senate direct the Legislative Budget and

17

Finance Committee to study the adult basic coverage insurance

18

program which may include the study of legislative bills

19

introduced on this issue, and identify possible funding sources

20

that are available to continue this program, reporting its
