Summary

Permits Secretary of State to specify by rule method, including but not limited to electronic method, by which Secretary of State will send notice related to document for which Secretary of State is filing officer. Requires Secretary of State to permit person that files document to elect to receive notice by method Secretary of State specifies. Requires Secretary of State to send notice by mail if person does not elect to receive notice by method Secretary of State specifies. Provides that Secretary of State shall collect $100 fee for filing document from entity that eligible Indian tribe owns, charters, registers or authorizes to conduct business if entity accompanies document with certificate showing that tribe owned, chartered or registered entity or authorized entity to conduct business. Becomes operative July 1, 2020. Takes effect on 91st day following adjournment sine die.
