A RESOLUTION
Honoring the Village of Columbus Grove on the One Hundred Fiftieth Anniversary of its founding.

       WHEREAS, The members of the Senate of the 130th General Assembly of Ohio are pleased to extend special recognition to the Village of Columbus Grove on its One Hundredth Fiftieth Anniversary; and

       WHEREAS, Over the past century and a half, the Village of Columbus Grove has become known for its residents' cooperation, integrity, and willingness to work hard, exemplary qualities that are still manifested by its citizens today. Since its establishment in 1864, the village has enjoyed the benefits of a generous and civic-minded population, and those who currently make the area their home take great pride in its rich heritage, including the Municipal Pool, which is listed of the National Register of Historic Places. Their efforts have certainly made the community a pleasant and friendly place in which to live and work; and

       WHEREAS, Every state depends upon such vibrant, durable communities as the Village of Columbus Grove for its own survival and stability. One hundred fifty years after it was founded, the village still radiates vitality, optimism, and a charm all its own. Columbus Grove is a place of many engaging qualities, and its schools, its businesses and industries, and its civic organizations both embody and thrive upon the values of which our flag is an emblem; and

       WHEREAS, America is only as strong as her individual communities, which are unique and which make a significant contribution to the culture of our state and nation. The Sesquicentennial of the Village of Columbus Grove offers its citizens the opportunity to share their memories and experiences and to reflect on the benefits of life in their close-knit communities, for they have built on the best traditions of the past to ensure a future filled with hope and promise; therefore be it

       RESOLVED, That we, the members of the Senate of the 130th General Assembly of Ohio, in adopting this Resolution, congratulate the Village of Columbus Grove on its One Hundred Fiftieth Anniversary and extend best wishes for peace and prosperity in the years to come; and be it further

       RESOLVED, That the Clerk of the Senate transmit a duly authenticated copy of this Resolution to the Village of Columbus Grove.
