A RESOLUTION
Honoring the University of Cincinnati dance team as the 2014 UCA & UDA Division IA Hip Hop Champion.

       WHEREAS, The members of the Senate of the 130th General Assembly of Ohio are pleased to congratulate the University of Cincinnati dance team on winning the 2014 Universal Cheerleaders Association & Universal Dance Association Division IA Hip Hop Championship; and

       WHEREAS, A remarkable group of young athletes, the members of the University of Cincinnati dance team have combined talent and competitive spirit with the highest ideals of good sportsmanship to establish themselves as a truly exceptional squad. With admirable dedication, the Bearcats have worked diligently toward attaining ultimate proficiency in their sport, and as a result, they won this year's UCA & UDA Division IA Hip Hop Championship; and

       WHEREAS, The achievements and leadership of the University of Cincinnati dance team are a justifiable source of pride and an excellent reflection not only on the members but also on their families, their school, their community, and their coaches. The success of any athletic endeavor depends largely on the ability of the coaches to provide both guidance and inspiration, and in leading their team to victory, Coach Kelsey Hamada, her assistant, Jennifer Bernier, and red team coach, Julia Lamey, have not only helped each member to develop her talents to the fullest, but they have also instilled in each a valuable sense of determination, perseverance, camaraderie, and school spirit; and

       WHEREAS, With athletic competition playing such an important role in the total education of our young people, we are extremely pleased to pay tribute to these fine athletes and their outstanding coaches for a job well done. The maturity and experience the members have gained through participation in sports will greatly aid them in meeting the challenges of the future; therefore be it

       RESOLVED, That we, the members of the Senate of the 130th General Assembly of Ohio, in adopting this Resolution, commend the University of Cincinnati dance team on its tremendous season and salute the members and coaches as fine citizens; and be it further

       RESOLVED, That the Clerk of the Senate transmit a duly authenticated copy of this Resolution to the University of Cincinnati dance team.
