A RESOLUTION

Honoring Ryan Harris as a 2013 Division III State Champion in wrestling.

       WHEREAS,  The members of the House of Representatives of the 130th General Assembly of Ohio take great pride in honoring Ryan Harris on winning the 2013 Division III State Wrestling title in the 160-pound weight class; and

       WHEREAS,  A junior at Beachwood High School, Ryan Harris has combined talent and competitive spirit with the highest ideals of good sportsmanship to establish himself as a truly exceptional young athlete. With admirable dedication, he has worked diligently to attain ultimate proficiency in wrestling, and as a result, he won the 160-pound weight class at this year's Division III State Wrestling Championships and finished the season with a perfect 50-0 record; and 

       WHEREAS,  Ryan Harris' accomplishments and leadership, both in and out of athletic competition, are a justifiable source of pride and an excellent reflection not only on him but also on his family, his teammates, his coaches, his school, and his community. His unwavering commitment to excellence has earned him the respect and esteem of many, and he is certainly worthy of high praise; and

       WHEREAS,  In an educational system that seeks to teach the future leaders of our state and nation the fundamentals of self-reliance and the rewards of individual effort, high school athletic competition has become a valuable educational tool. Through his participation in sports, Ryan Harris has learned lessons of perseverance, hard work, and fair and honest competition that will undoubtedly be of great benefit to him throughout his lifetime; therefore be it

       RESOLVED,  That we, the members of the House of Representatives of the 130th General Assembly of Ohio, in adopting this Resolution, congratulate Ryan Harris on his tremendous performance in state competition and extend best wishes for continued success; and be it further

       RESOLVED,  That the Clerk of the House of Representatives transmit a duly authenticated copy of this Resolution to Ryan Harris.
