A BILL

To enact section 5533.471 of the Revised Code to

designate a portion of State Route 264 within the

2

city of Cincinnati as the "Elder High School

3

Vietnam Veterans Memorial Highway"; to authorize

4

the Director of Transportation to erect suitable

5

markers along the highway indicating its name; and

6

to authorize Elder High School, subject to

7

approval by the Director, to erect auxiliary

8

markers on a periodic basis indicating the name of

9

one of the eleven Elder High School graduates who

10

died during the Vietnam conflict.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF OHIO:

Section 1. That section 5533.471 of the Revised Code be	12
enacted to read as follows:	13

Sec. 5533.471.  (A) That portion of state route number two	14
hundred sixty-four located within the city of Cincinnati and also	15
known as Glenway avenue, commencing at the intersection of that	16
route and Gilsey avenue and extending in an easterly direction to	17
the intersection of that route with Beech avenue, shall be known	18
as the "Elder High School Vietnam Veterans Memorial Highway."	19

(B) The director of transportation may erect suitable markers	20
along the highway indicating its name.	21

(C) Subject to approval by the director in relation to the	22
marker size, color, format, and method of placement, elder high	23
school may erect auxiliary markers in conjunction with the markers	24
erected by the director under division (B) of this section,	25
bearing one of the following names:	26

(1) "Navy Commander Leonard Frederick Vogt, Jr.";

(2) "Air Force Captain Albert Francis Sayer, Jr.";

28

(3) "Marine Corps Sergeant Thomas Patrick Kindt";

29

(4) "Army Specialist Five Robert James Oates";

30

(5) "Army Corporal Donald Lawrence Schnee";

31

(6) "Marine Corps Corporal David Raymond Caruso";

32

(7) "Army Private First Class Michael Lee Faulkner";

33

(8) "Marine Corps Private First Class Michael Francis Huwel";

34

(9) "Army Private First Class Paul Patrick Davis";

35

(10) "Marine Corps Corporal William Francis Reiter";

36

(11) "Marine Corps Lance Corporal Michael Robert Witt."

Elder high school may alternate the approved auxiliary	38
