        Introduced  by  Sen. PERALTA -- read twice and ordered printed, and when
          printed to be committed to the Committee on  Energy  and  Telecommuni-
          cations
        AN ACT to amend the public authorities law, in relation to mobile cellu-
          lar devices
          The  People of the State of New York, represented in Senate and Assem-
        bly, do enact as follows:
     1    Section 1. The public authorities law  is  amended  by  adding  a  new
     2  section 1884 to read as follows:
     3    §  1884. Application compatible with mobile cellular devices.  (a) The
     4  authority shall develop and  maintain  an  application  compatible  with
     5  mobile  cellular devices. Such application shall use the mobile cellular
     6  device's location to determine the  distance,  driving  directions,  and
     7  location of the nearest electric vehicle charging station. Such informa-
     8  tion shall be displayed in the form of an interactive map. This applica-
     9  tion  shall  be  updated at least every six months to reflect changes in
    10  the operation and location of electric vehicle  charging  stations.  The
    11  authority  shall  be  prohibited from charging a fee for the use of such
    12  application.
    13    (b) The authority shall also maintain a website with the same informa-
    14  tion available in such application.
    15    § 2. This act shall take effect immediately.
