       Introduced by Sens. YOUNG, LARKIN -- read twice and ordered printed, and
         when  printed  to  be  committed to the Committee on Transportation --
         reported favorably from said committee, ordered to  first  and  second
         report,  amended  on second report, ordered to a third reading, and to
         be reprinted as amended, retaining its place in  the  order  of  third
         reading
       AN ACT to amend the highway law, in relation to designating a portion of
         the  state highway system in the village of Cuba as the "Sergeant Mark
         Bradley Memorial Bridge"
         THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF NEW YORK, REPRESENTED IN SENATE AND  ASSEM-
       BLY, DO ENACT AS FOLLOWS:
    1    Section  1.   The highway law is amended by adding a new section 343-z
    2  to read as follows:
    3    S 343-Z. PORTION  OF  THE  STATE  HIGHWAY  TO  BE  DESIGNATED  AS  THE
    4  "SERGEANT MARK BRADLEY MEMORIAL BRIDGE". THE BRIDGES ON INTERSTATE ROUTE
    5  EIGHTY-SIX  WHICH CROSS STATE ROUTE THREE HUNDRED FIVE IN THE VILLAGE OF
    6  CUBA, COUNTY OF ALLEGANY, SHALL BOTH BE  DESIGNATED  AND  KNOWN  AS  THE
    7  "SERGEANT MARK BRADLEY MEMORIAL BRIDGE".
    8    S  2. The commissioner of transportation shall provide for the instal-
    9  lation and maintenance of adequate signing of the state  highway  system
   10  as  designated  pursuant  to  section one of this act. However, to avoid
   11  confusion and to limit any possible disruption of commerce,  the  desig-
   12  nation  called  for  pursuant to section one of this act shall be one of
   13  ceremonial nature and the official name of such  bridges  shall  not  be
   14  changed as a result of this act.
   15    S 3. This act shall take effect immediately.
