DIAZ -- read twice and ordered printed, and when printed to be committed to the Committee on Crime Victims, Crime and Correction AN ACT to amend the correction law, in relation to collection of super- vision fees from persons on community supervision THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF NEW YORK, REPRESENTED IN SENATE AND ASSEM- BLY, DO ENACT AS FOLLOWS: 1 Section 1. Subdivision 9 of section 201 of the correction law is 2 amended by adding a new paragraph (e) to read as follows: 3 (E) (I) NOTWITHSTANDING ANY OTHER LAW, RULE OR REGULATION TO THE 4 CONTRARY, AND EXCEPT AS PROVIDED FOR IN SUBPARAGRAPH (II) OF THIS PARA- 5 GRAPH, THE SUPERVISION FEE AUTHORIZED BY THIS SUBDIVISION SHALL NOT BE 6 COLLECTED BY THE PAROLE OFFICER OF A PERSON ON COMMUNITY SUPERVISION. 7 THE DEPARTMENT MAY PROMULGATE RULES AND REGULATIONS TO ESTABLISH ALTER- 8 NATIVE METHODS FOR PAYMENT OF SUCH SUPERVISION FEE BY PERSONS ON COMMU- 9 NITY SUPERVISION. 10 (II) AT ANY REPORTING LOCATION NOT UNDER THE DOMINION AND CONTROL OF 11 THE DEPARTMENT, THE PAROLE OFFICER MAY BE AUTHORIZED TO COLLECT THE 12 SUPERVISION FEE. 13 S 2. This act shall take effect immediately; provided, however, that 14 the amendments to subdivision 9 of section 201 of the correction law 15 made by section one of this act shall not affect the repeal of such 16 subdivision and shall be deemed repealed therewith.
