       Introduced  by Sen. NOZZOLIO -- read twice and ordered printed, and when
         printed to be committed to the Committee on Local Government -- recom-
         mitted to the Committee on Local Government in accordance with  Senate
         Rule  6,  sec.  8  --  committee  discharged,  bill  amended,  ordered
         reprinted as amended and recommitted to said committee
       AN ACT to authorize the town of Lansing, county of Tompkins to conduct a
         referendum for a town-wide sewer benefit district
         THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF NEW YORK, REPRESENTED IN SENATE AND  ASSEM-
       BLY, DO ENACT AS FOLLOWS:
    1    Section  1.  For the purposes of determining whether the electorate of
    2  the town of Lansing, county of Tompkins, would be supportive  of  estab-
    3  lishing  a  town-wide  sewer benefit district pursuant to section 190 of
    4  the town law, the town of Lansing is  hereby  authorized  to  place  the
    5  following  question  before  the  electorate  of  such town at a special
    6  election to be conducted on September 9, 2014:
    7    "Shall the Town of Lansing create the Lansing Sewer Improvement  Area,
    8  consisting  of  the whole of the Town outside of the Village of Lansing,
    9  with an initial service area in the Town Center and along  State  Routes
   10  34 and 34-B towards the Lansing Schools and a treatment plant near Port-
   11  land Point, at a proposed financed cost of $8,200,000?"
   12    The  outcome  of  such election shall have no force of law and be non-
   13  binding.
   14    S 2. This act shall take effect immediately.
