         when printed to be committed to the Committee  on  Investigations  and
         Government Operations
       AN  ACT  to  amend  the public officers law, in relation to allowing the
         public to submit requests for access to the records of a state  agency
         by use of an online form
         THE  PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF NEW YORK, REPRESENTED IN SENATE AND ASSEM-
       BLY, DO ENACT AS FOLLOWS:
    1    Section 1. Subdivision 3 of section 89 of the public officers  law  is
    2  amended by adding a new paragraph (c) to read as follows:
    3    (C)  EACH  STATE AGENCY AS DEFINED IN SUBDIVISION FIVE OF THIS SECTION
    4  THAT MAINTAINS A WEBSITE SHALL  ENSURE  ITS  WEBSITE  PROVIDES  FOR  THE
    5  ONLINE SUBMISSION OF A REQUEST FOR RECORDS PURSUANT TO THIS ARTICLE.
    6    S  2. This act shall take effect on the first of January next succeed-
    7  ing the date on which it shall have become a law.
