       Introduced  by  Sen. RITCHIE -- read twice and ordered printed, and when
         printed to be committed to the Committee on Agriculture
       AN ACT requiring the state fire prevention and building code council  to
         implement rules and regulations regarding the maple industry
         THE  PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF NEW YORK, REPRESENTED IN SENATE AND ASSEM-
       BLY, DO ENACT AS FOLLOWS:
    1    Section 1. The state fire prevention  and  building  code  council  is
    2  hereby directed to implement rules and regulations that:
    3    (a)  include  maple  production  facilities and sugarhouses within the
    4  definition of agricultural buildings, so that such  facilities  will  be
    5  qualified for exceptions for agricultural buildings; and
    6    (b)  allow  for  public access and assembly in sugarhouses as an agri-
    7  tourism activity.
    8    S 2. This act shall take effect immediately.
