       Introduced  by  Sen.  KRUGER -- read twice and ordered printed, and when
         printed to be committed to the Committee on Education
       AN ACT to amend the education law,  in  relation  to  requiring  charter
         schools employee salaries to be less than the salary of the chancellor
         of the department of education
         THE  PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF NEW YORK, REPRESENTED IN SENATE AND ASSEM-
       BLY, DO ENACT AS FOLLOWS:
    1    Section 1. The education law is amended by adding a new  section  2858
    2  to read as follows:
    3    S  2858. CHARTER SCHOOL PERSONNEL; SALARIES. NO CHARTER SCHOOL PERSON-
    4  NEL, INCLUDING, BUT NOT LIMITED TO, TEACHERS, SCHOOL ADMINISTRATORS, AND
    5  OTHER SCHOOL EMPLOYEES, SHALL EARN A SALARY OR OTHER REMUNERATION  WHICH
    6  IS  GREATER THAN THE SALARY OR REMUNERATION OF THE SUPERINTENDENT OF THE
    7  DISTRICT IN WHICH SUCH CHARTER SCHOOL IS LOCATED OR, FOR CHARTER SCHOOLS
    8  LOCATED IN THE CITY OF NEW YORK,  THE  CHANCELLOR  OF  THE  CITY  SCHOOL
    9  DISTRICT  OF  THE  CITY OF NEW YORK. THE SALARY OR OTHER REMUNERATION OF
   10  SUCH CHARTER SCHOOL PERSONNEL SHALL BE THE ENTIRE SALARY OR REMUNERATION
   11  FROM ALL CHARTER SCHOOLS BY WHICH SUCH PERSON IS EMPLOYED.
   12    S 2. This act shall take effect immediately.
